appointed as the Secretary-General of the Commission on Higher
Education, Ministry of Education on 1 October 2007 in the
replacement of Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara who has end his
term on 30 September 2007 |

On
21 December 2007, Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Executive Director of the AUN,
paid a courtesy call on H.E.
Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, newly appointed Secretary-General
of ASEAN. The call provided opportunity for the AUN Secretariat
to introduce the organization structure, activities and strategic
framework towards ASEAN Community by 2015. The Secretary-General
Surin agreed, during the discussion, that the future role
of the AUN should support as a Think-Tank for ASEAN Higher
Education in order to serve the new ASEAN Charter. |

call on Prof. Dr. Khunying Suchada Kirananda, President of
Chulalongkorn University as she completed her term of duty
in March 2008. |
